# Security and Privacy

MaiGPT security and privacy: whether your conversations are seen by other companies or used to train models, who can see your conversations, enterprise data protection, and usage recommendations.

MaiGPT is designed from the ground up to protect enterprise data security. Below are answers to the security questions people ask most often.

***

## FAQ <a href="#faq" id="faq"></a>

### Can my conversation content be seen by external parties? <a href="#chat-visibility" id="chat-visibility"></a>

No. Your conversation data stays within your company's environment and cannot be accessed by other companies or external parties.

### Will AI use my conversations to train models? <a href="#ai-training-on-chat" id="ai-training-on-chat"></a>

No. The AI models used by MaiGPT do not use your conversation data for training.

### Can company administrators see my conversations? <a href="#admin-access-to-chat" id="admin-access-to-chat"></a>

Yes, depending on role permissions. The following two groups can go to <mark style="color:blue;">AgentOps</mark> → <mark style="color:blue;">AI Assistant Monitoring</mark> → <mark style="color:blue;">Conversation Records</mark> in the back office and use the member filter to see your MaiGPT questions and AI replies:

* Organization owners
* Members whose role has the <mark style="color:blue;">AI Assistant Monitoring permission</mark>

To find out which roles in your company have these permissions, or what your company's policy is on viewing conversations, ask your IT administrator. For the administrator-side steps, see [View MaiGPT Conversations](/maiagent-user-guide/en/build/agent-ops/evaluations.md#view-maigpt-conversations).

### Are uploaded files secure? <a href="#uploaded-files-security" id="uploaded-files-security"></a>

Uploaded files are stored in your company's secure environment. They are encrypted in transit and at rest. If administrators need a full description of the security mechanisms, see [Security and Privacy](/maiagent-user-guide/en/org/security-and-privacy.md#encryption).

### Are connectors (Notion, Slack, etc.) secure? <a href="#connector-security" id="connector-security"></a>

Connectors use standard OAuth authorization, and MaiGPT does not store your account passwords. You can revoke authorization at any time.

## Usage Recommendations <a href="#usage-recommendations" id="usage-recommendations"></a>

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Avoid entering highly confidential information**

Although MaiGPT has comprehensive security protections, avoid entering passwords, credit card numbers, national ID numbers, or other highly sensitive information directly in conversations.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.maiagent.ai/maiagent-user-guide/en/work/maigpt/faq/security.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
