# Chat with Agents (Agent Marketplace)

Pick an official built-in or organization-built Agent from "Agent Marketplace" in the left menu of the admin console and chat with it directly. Conversations stay inside the platform and do not go thr

<mark style="color:blue;">Agent Marketplace</mark> in the left menu is the entry point where organization members chat with Agents directly in the admin console. It has two tabs:

* <mark style="color:blue;">Official Built-in</mark>: Agents prebuilt by MaiAgent and enabled by your organization. See [Official Built-in Agents](/maiagent-user-guide/en/work/built-in-agents.md)
* <mark style="color:blue;">Organization-Built</mark>: Agents your team created with Agent Builder. This page covers this path

## <mark style="color:blue;">Introduction to Chatting in Agent Marketplace</mark> <a href="#internal-qa-introduction" id="internal-qa-introduction"></a>

Chatting with an organization-built Agent in Agent Marketplace uses the **built-in channel** "Internal" that is created automatically when you create an Agent. No integration setup is required. In "All Conversations", the source of these conversations is labeled "<mark style="color:blue;">Internal</mark>". Conversations stay inside the platform and do not appear on external channels such as LINE or Web Chat.

**💬 Conversation area**

## <mark style="color:blue;">How Do I Chat with an Agent in Agent Marketplace?</mark> <a href="#how-to-use-internal-qa" id="how-to-use-internal-qa"></a>

### 1. Pick an Agent from "Agent Marketplace" <a href="#step-navigate-to-internal-qa" id="step-navigate-to-internal-qa"></a>

Click "<mark style="color:blue;">Agent Marketplace</mark>" in the left menu, switch to the <mark style="color:blue;">Organization-Built</mark> tab, and pick the Agent you want to chat with to open the chat page.

This tab also has a few handy tools:

| Location                                                                                                      | Function                                                                                                                                                                      |

| Star on a card                                                                                                | <mark style="color:blue;">Add to Favorites</mark> / <mark style="color:blue;">Remove from Favorites</mark>. Favorites sync to your account, so they follow you across devices |
| Tool icon on a card | Hover to show "N tools mounted", indicating how many tools this Agent has configured |
| <mark style="color:blue;">Settings</mark> on a card | Open that Agent's settings page; shown only if you have edit permission for it |

{% hint style="info" %}
If you cannot find an Agent in the <mark style="color:blue;">Organization-Built</mark> tab of <mark style="color:blue;">Agent Marketplace</mark>, it is usually because your role has not been assigned its "Internal" channel. For the listing conditions, see [Which Agents Appear in the Organization-Built Tab](/maiagent-user-guide/en/work/built-in-agents.md#self-built-tab-conditions).
{% endhint %}

### 2. Select the Agent You Want to Chat With <a href="#step-select-ai-agent" id="step-select-ai-agent"></a>

You can choose the Agent to chat with from the <mark style="color:blue;">blue dropdown</mark> (<mark style="color:blue;">Select AI Assistant</mark>) in the upper left. Once expanded, <mark style="color:blue;">Search AI Assistants</mark> at the top filters by name; the list shows <mark style="color:blue;">Recently Used</mark> first, followed by <mark style="color:blue;">All AI Assistants</mark>.

<figure><img src="https://1360999650-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6v6TNkkOQVfRYfcNirHL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-c957d44eede6799bc66f68cc9d6e630d62e500ca%2F%E6%AD%B7%E5%8F%B2%E5%B0%8D%E8%A9%B1%E7%B4%80%E9%8C%84%20(3).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### 3. Start Chatting <a href="#step-start-conversation" id="step-start-conversation"></a>

* **Continue a past conversation**: choose the topic you want to continue from the past conversations on the left.
* **Start a new conversation**: click "<mark style="color:blue;">New Chat</mark>" in the left panel to start a brand-new conversation.

{% hint style="info" %}
All conversations appear in the chat history at the upper left
{% endhint %}

After selecting a conversation, type your question in the text box below to start chatting.

<div><figure><img src="https://1360999650-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6v6TNkkOQVfRYfcNirHL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-78e74e1e1933541d3c49ca1edbba7e46b091a7eb%2F%E6%AD%B7%E5%8F%B2%E5%B0%8D%E8%A9%B1%E7%B4%80%E9%8C%84%20(4).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>Continue a past conversation (select a conversation)</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://1360999650-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6v6TNkkOQVfRYfcNirHL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-5ff73675a898bded8ad4531d8c24b2cb91cabd2c%2F%E6%AD%B7%E5%8F%B2%E5%B0%8D%E8%A9%B1%E7%B4%80%E9%8C%84%20(5).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>Start a new conversation (new chat)</p></figcaption></figure></div>

### 4. Customize the Document Reference Scope (Optional) <a href="#step-customize-document-scope" id="step-customize-document-scope"></a>

Use the knowledge base management panel on the right to choose which specific documents the Agent may reference in this conversation.

<figure><img src="https://1360999650-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6v6TNkkOQVfRYfcNirHL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-0cb1bd1b15171439d50e86c8c617df2f23cbb759%2F%E6%AD%B7%E5%8F%B2%E5%B0%8D%E8%A9%B1%E7%B4%80%E9%8C%84%20(6).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* For each message, you can freely select the reference documents and FAQs
* You can reset them before every message you send

#### **Document Access Scope** <a href="#document-access-scope" id="document-access-scope"></a>

1. When the first message is sent, all documents are available, including "氣氛燈-系列.md"

After referencing it, the Agent answers: "Document content: The official website has been closed and no products are sold anymore"

<figure><img src="https://1360999650-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6v6TNkkOQVfRYfcNirHL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-030224e50ac35ffc4f9c52d1885cc0242c30fb33%2F%E8%9E%A2%E5%B9%95%E6%93%B7%E5%8F%96%E7%95%AB%E9%9D%A2%202025-09-12%20145435.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

2. When the second message is sent, "氣氛燈-系列.md" is unchecked

The Agent cannot reference it and replies: "I can't find the specific content of the file '**氣氛燈-系列.md'.**"

<figure><img src="https://1360999650-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6v6TNkkOQVfRYfcNirHL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-3c67557e56ed0e9d4272289f2e24aa8d8e75b75b%2F%E8%9E%A2%E5%B9%95%E6%93%B7%E5%8F%96%E7%95%AB%E9%9D%A2%202025-09-12%20145644.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### FAQs Access Scope <a href="#faqs-access-scope" id="faqs-access-scope"></a>

1. When the first message is sent, all FAQs are available, including "How does an LLM work?"

After referencing it, the Agent gives the relevant answer

<figure><img src="https://1360999650-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6v6TNkkOQVfRYfcNirHL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-fb3c81acae951764f6f247d13146ceb140b4e78e%2Fimage%20(205).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

2. When the second message is sent, "How does an LLM work?" is unchecked

The Agent cannot reference "How does an LLM work?" and replies: "I can't find any information about how LLMs work in the FAQs"

<figure><img src="https://1360999650-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6v6TNkkOQVfRYfcNirHL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-693cb124378dbd35f5bc571b3f2b2bb8d6ebf706%2Fimage%20(206).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Tag Filter <a href="#tag-filter" id="tag-filter"></a>

You can use the tags set up in the knowledge base to filter which document content the Agent may reference:

{% hint style="info" %}
For tag setup, see: [Document Management: Tags and Metadata](/maiagent-user-guide/en/build/knowledge-base/tags-and-metadata.md)
{% endhint %}

a. Click "Show Tag Filter" in the upper right

<figure><img src="https://1360999650-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6v6TNkkOQVfRYfcNirHL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-f0108aa6a16afdf9a6b32d30e94e3fb14cbb996d%2F%E6%AD%B7%E5%8F%B2%E5%B0%8D%E8%A9%B1%E7%B4%80%E9%8C%84%20(7).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

b. Choose the matching mode: click "<mark style="color:blue;">Include All Tags (AND)</mark>" or "<mark style="color:blue;">Include Any Tag (OR)</mark>" to switch (the image below shows the older AND/OR buttons, in the same position)

<figure><img src="https://1360999650-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6v6TNkkOQVfRYfcNirHL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-84a8b1a769ef70560fd80e037f0ce49b8d3e6757%2F%E6%AD%B7%E5%8F%B2%E5%B0%8D%E8%A9%B1%E7%B4%80%E9%8C%84%20(8).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

c. Add tags

* Filter with "Include All Tags (AND)"
  * Documents: only "進階露營.pdf" meets all the conditions and can be referenced by the Agent
  * FAQs: no FAQ meets all the conditions at the same time, so none is shown

{% hint style="info" %}
The tag filter applies to both documents and FAQ content. The setting here only affects this conversation; to have the Agent apply the same conditions by default on all channels, set up [Knowledge Base Tag Filter](/maiagent-user-guide/en/build/agent/label-filter.md) on the Agent settings page.
{% endhint %}

<div><figure><img src="https://1360999650-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6v6TNkkOQVfRYfcNirHL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-9c96628fe6a98fa0101af21c1eb83a5dde075418%2F%E6%AD%B7%E5%8F%B2%E5%B0%8D%E8%A9%B1%E7%B4%80%E9%8C%84%20(9)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://1360999650-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6v6TNkkOQVfRYfcNirHL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-225b8700508b07416c9c3510c5da872f8dc619e5%2F%E6%AD%B7%E5%8F%B2%E5%B0%8D%E8%A9%B1%E7%B4%80%E9%8C%84%20(10).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

### 5. Adjust Agent Settings in Real Time (Optional) <a href="#step-adjust-ai-agent-settings" id="step-adjust-ai-agent-settings"></a>

Use "<mark style="color:blue;">AI Assistant Settings</mark>" in the upper right to change permissions, tools, and other configuration in real time.

<figure><img src="https://1360999650-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6v6TNkkOQVfRYfcNirHL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-c716b48211c7c4611fee1df63c193740766fa1f1%2F%E6%AD%B7%E5%8F%B2%E5%B0%8D%E8%A9%B1%E7%B4%80%E9%8C%84%20(11).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After you click it, a pop-up panel opens on the right where you can freely edit the permissions, tools, and more that you need

<figure><img src="https://1360999650-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6v6TNkkOQVfRYfcNirHL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-0f9b266a1fe3b62450b207a56cf57522a31acfd9%2Fimage%20(90).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Who Sees the "AI Assistant Settings" Button <a href="#who-sees-settings-button" id="who-sees-settings-button"></a>

This button is shown based on "your edit permission for **the current Agent**". Without edit permission, the button does not appear, and you can still chat with that Agent as usual.

| Your role | Is the button shown? |
| ---------------------------------------- | ------------------------------ |
| Organization owner                       | ✅ Always shown                 |
| Your role has "Allow Edit" for the Agent | ✅ Shown |
| Your role can only view the Agent | ❌ Not shown; you can only chat |
| No "AI Assistant" feature permission | ❌ Not shown |

{% hint style="info" %}
Permissions are determined **per Agent**. When the same person switches between different Agents on the same page, the button may appear or disappear. This is normal.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
The button appears only after the permission check completes, so there may be a brief delay right after you switch Agents. This is normal behavior.
{% endhint %}

Edit permission is granted by organization administrators by checking "<mark style="color:blue;">Allow Edit</mark>" for each Agent in the "<mark style="color:blue;">Assign AI Assistants</mark>" tab of "<mark style="color:blue;">Role Permissions</mark>". For setup, see [Role Resource Access Permissions](/maiagent-user-guide/en/org/roles/group-resource-access.md). After an administrator makes changes, they take effect once members refresh the page.

{% hint style="info" %}
If you need to edit an Agent but cannot see this button, contact your organization administrator to enable "Allow Edit" for that Agent on your role.
{% endhint %}

## Message and Conversation Actions <a href="#message-and-conversation-actions" id="message-and-conversation-actions"></a>

The Agent Marketplace chat page shares the same message and conversation actions as MaiGPT. For the full description, see [MaiGPT: Message Actions](/maiagent-user-guide/en/work/maigpt/chat.md#message-actions) and [Organizing Conversations](/maiagent-user-guide/en/work/maigpt/chat.md#manage-conversations). In Agent Marketplace:

* **Your messages**: hover to <mark style="color:blue;">Copy</mark> or <mark style="color:blue;">Edit message</mark>. Editing deletes the conversation that follows and regenerates the reply; for edited messages, use <mark style="color:blue;">‹ N / M ›</mark> to switch between versions.
* **Agent replies**: hover to <mark style="color:blue;">Copy</mark>, <mark style="color:blue;">Like</mark>, <mark style="color:blue;">Dislike</mark> (opens the "Provide Feedback" window), or <mark style="color:blue;">Branch from here</mark>.
* **Conversation list on the left**: click <mark style="color:blue;">⋮</mark> on a conversation to <mark style="color:blue;">Rename</mark> or <mark style="color:blue;">Delete conversation</mark>. Pinning is exclusive to MaiGPT and is not available here.
* **Chat page of an official built-in Agent**: an extra <mark style="color:blue;">Connected Services</mark> button appears at the top, used to manage the authorizations for external services the Agent accesses on your behalf. See [Connected Services](/maiagent-user-guide/en/build/choose-channel/web-chat/connected-services.md).
* **Voice**: when an Agent has the voice assistant enabled, the input bar gains a <mark style="color:blue;">Voice Interaction Mode</mark> button. See [Voice Assistant: How Users Use It](/maiagent-user-guide/en/build/agent/voice-agent.md#how-users-talk).

## 💡 <mark style="color:blue;">Usage Tips</mark> <a href="#usage-tips" id="usage-tips"></a>

### **Conversation Management** <a href="#conversation-management" id="conversation-management"></a>

* Use the conversation history to quickly get back to earlier discussions
* New chats are good for starting a brand-new topic
* Rename conversations once you have many, so the title tells you at a glance what each one is about

### **Document Control Precision** <a href="#document-precision-control" id="document-precision-control"></a>

* For specific questions, limit the reference documents to get more precise answers
* Avoid unrelated documents interfering with the Agent's judgment

### **Flexible Settings Adjustment** <a href="#flexible-settings-adjustment" id="flexible-settings-adjustment"></a>

* Adjust the Agent's capabilities in real time for different conversation scenarios
* Test how different settings affect answer quality

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.maiagent.ai/maiagent-user-guide/en/work/explain.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
