# Agent Marketplace

Official built-in Agents are AI assistants created by MaiAgent and listed in the Agent Marketplace. Once enabled by an organization, they are ready to use without building one yourself.

Official built-in Agents are AI assistants that MaiAgent has designed, tested, and listed in the Agent Marketplace. Their role instructions, models, and tools are already configured. Once an organization administrator enables one, members can start chatting immediately. There is no need to build an Agent, adjust its role instructions, or prepare a knowledge base first.

In the Agent Marketplace, official built-in Agents and Agents your organization creates appear on separate tabs: Official Built-in and Created by Organization.

## How They Differ from Organization-created Agents

| Knowledge base | You can import your own documents | Fully customizable |

| Quantity limit | Plan-specific **limit on simultaneously enabled Agents** | Depends on the plan (see [Trial and Subscription Plans](/maiagent-user-guide/en/others/trial-and-plans.md)) |
| Who can use it | An administrator chooses the available users | Determined by role permissions |

In short: **Use an official built-in Agent to get started quickly; build your own for customization.** You can use both. Many organizations use official built-in Agents for common tasks and create their own Agents for company-specific processes.

## What You Can and Cannot Change After Enabling One

When you enable an official built-in Agent, the system creates a **locked assistant** in your organization from the official blueprint.

**You can:**

* Import your own documents into this Agent's dedicated knowledge base.
* Choose which roles and groups can use it.
* Complete any connector authorization it needs.

**You cannot:**

* Change its role instructions (System Prompt).
* Add or remove tools or skills.
* Switch its language model.

{% hint style="info" %}
It is normal if there is no edit button for an official built-in Agent in the AI Assistants list. MaiAgent maintains its settings centrally to provide consistent quality across organizations and automatically apply official updates.

If you need custom role instructions or a different set of tools, build an assistant with [Agent Builder](/maiagent-user-guide/en/build/agent-builder.md), or apply an official template from the [Agent Template Library](/maiagent-user-guide/en/build/agent/agent-templates.md) to create an assistant you can edit freely.
{% endhint %}

## Versions Update Automatically

Each official built-in Agent card displays a version. When MaiAgent releases a new version to improve prompts, correct behavior, or extend capabilities, **organizations that have enabled the Agent automatically receive the latest version**. You do not need to, and cannot, upgrade manually or pin a version.

{% hint style="info" %}
If an Agent's response style or output format changes, MaiAgent has usually released a new version. Documents you imported into its knowledge base are unaffected.
{% endhint %}

## The Number You Can Enable Depends on Your Plan

Official built-in Agents have a **limit on the number enabled at the same time** and a **cooldown period** after activation. Allowances differ by plan. See [Trial and Subscription Plans · Feature Differences](/maiagent-user-guide/en/others/trial-and-plans.md#feature-differences).

{% hint style="warning" %}
If your organization's plan does not include official built-in Agents, the Official Built-in tab will not appear in the Agent Marketplace. Contact the sales team to upgrade your plan.
{% endhint %}

For details on enabling Agents, calculating the cooldown period, and what happens when you reach the limit, see [Enable and Manage](/maiagent-user-guide/en/work/built-in-agents/management.md).

## Available Scenarios

{% hint style="info" %}
The table lists only representative examples for each category. MaiAgent **continues to add** official built-in Agents. For the current list, check the Official Built-in tab in the Agent Marketplace.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.maiagent.ai/maiagent-user-guide/en/work/built-in-agents.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
